Current version and file size
We do not publish an APK version number or an exact file size. The operator replaces the file without announcing it, and a number printed here would be wrong within weeks — which is worse than no number at all. Instead, here is how to find both for the build you actually have:
- File size: shown in your browser’s download list or the Files app once the download finishes. A genuine installer is measured in tens of megabytes. A file of a few hundred kilobytes is not the app — delete it.
- Installed version: Settings → Apps → Ekbet → scroll to the bottom (“Version”). Note it down; it helps if you ever need to report a problem to the operator.
Requirements
| Item | Requirement | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Android version | 5.0 or higher | Stated on the operator’s download page |
| Free storage | Installer size plus room for cache | Keep at least a few hundred MB free on the phone generally; Android installs fail silently when storage is nearly full |
| Connection | Stable mobile data or Wi-Fi | Interrupted downloads produce corrupt files (“problem parsing the package”) |
| Browser | Chrome recommended by the operator | Others work, but the permission prompt wording differs |
Installation steps
Open the operator’s site on your phone and go to the Mobile tab
Type the address or use a bookmark. Do not use a download link sent in Telegram, WhatsApp or SMS.
Tap “Android Download”
Chrome may warn that “this type of file can harm your device”. It shows this for every APK regardless of source. Choose Download anyway only because you are on the operator’s own page.
Check the file before opening it
The name should end in
.apkand the size should be in megabytes. See verifying the download.Open the file and allow installs from your browser
Android will say the browser is not allowed to install unknown apps and offer a Settings shortcut. On Android 8 and later this permission is per app, so you are trusting only the browser, not every source.
Tap Install and read the summary
Installation takes a few seconds. If Play Protect intervenes, see security warnings.
Switch the install permission off again
Settings → Apps → Chrome → Install unknown apps → off. You can re-enable it when the next update arrives. Leaving it on is an unnecessary standing risk.
Which permissions to allow and which to refuse
| Permission | Recommendation | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Notifications | Optional | Useful for settled-bet alerts; also used for promotions |
| Photos / files | Allow only when uploading KYC documents | Android 13+ lets you grant access to selected photos only |
| Camera | Optional | Only needed if you photograph documents inside the app |
| Contacts, SMS, call logs | Refuse | A betting app has no need for them, and SMS access exposes one-time passwords |
| Accessibility service | Refuse | Accessibility access lets an app read and control your screen; a genuine betting app does not request it |
| Install other apps | Refuse | No reason for this app to install further software |
You can review permissions at any time in Settings → Apps → Ekbet → Permissions. If the installed app asks for SMS or accessibility access, uninstall it: that is a strong sign you have a repackaged copy.
How to verify the download source
- Check the address bar before tapping download. The download must start from the operator’s own domain, not from an APK aggregator, a file-sharing host or a shortened link.
- Check the file name and size in your downloads list. Tiny files,
.zipfiles, or names with “mod”, “premium” or “unlocked” are not the real app. - Check the permission list during install (see above). Requests for SMS, contacts or accessibility are a red flag.
- Optional — compare the signature. If you are comfortable with it, an app such as a package inspector can show the signing certificate. Every genuine update should be signed with the same certificate as the version you installed first; Android itself refuses an update signed with a different key (“App not installed as package conflicts with an existing package”).
If you installed from a mirror siteUninstall that app, change your Ekbet password from a browser, and check that your registered phone number and withdrawal details have not been changed.
Android security warnings explained
| Warning | What it means |
|---|---|
| “This type of file can harm your device” | Generic Chrome warning for every APK. It is not a verdict on this file. |
| “For your security, your phone is not allowed to install unknown apps from this source” | The per-app install permission is off. Grant it to the browser temporarily. |
| “Blocked by Play Protect” / “Unsafe app blocked” | Play Protect has not seen this app from the Play Store. It shows for many legitimate sideloaded apps, but it also catches real malware. Proceed only if every check in verifying the download passes; otherwise stop. |
| “Harmful app detected” after installation | Treat this seriously. Uninstall and download again from the operator’s page; if it recurs, use the mobile website instead. |
Updating an existing installation
Sideloaded apps do not update through the Play Store. When the operator releases a new build, the app may show an update prompt, or it may simply stop loading correctly. To update:
Download the new APK from the same download page
Not from a link inside a message.
Install over the top
Do not uninstall first. Installing over the existing app keeps your saved login and settings.
Switch the browser’s install permission off again
Same as the first install.
Your balance and bet history are stored on the server, not in the app, so updating never affects them.
Uninstall and reinstall procedure
Use this when the app crashes on launch, an update fails, or you see “App not installed as package conflicts with an existing package”.
- Settings → Apps → Ekbet → Storage → Clear cache. Try the app again; this alone fixes most loading problems.
- If not, Uninstall. Restart the phone.
- Download a fresh APK from the operator’s download page and install it.
- Log in. You will need your password again, because uninstalling removes the saved session.
Logging in after installation
Use the same username (or phone number) and password as on the website — there is no separate app account. The login form includes an on-screen verification code. If the app rejects credentials that work in a browser, the build is usually out of date. Everything else about signing in, resets and lockouts is on the login guide; if you have no account yet, see registration.
Installation troubleshooting
“App not installed”
- Cause
- An older build signed differently is already present, the download was interrupted, or storage is nearly full.
- Fix
- Free some storage, uninstall any existing Ekbet app, re-download, and check the file size before opening.
“There was a problem parsing the package”
- Cause
- Corrupt or incomplete file, or a build that needs a newer Android version than your phone has.
- Fix
- Delete the file and download again on a stable connection. If it persists on an Android 5–6 phone, use the mobile website.
Install button greyed out
- Cause
- A screen overlay (blue-light filter, chat bubbles, screen recorder) is active; Android disables the button to prevent tap-jacking.
- Fix
- Turn off overlays and chat heads temporarily, then try again.
App opens to a blank or white screen
- Cause
- Stale cache after an update, or a network that blocks the operator’s domains.
- Fix
- Clear the app’s cache. Try switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data. Check whether the mobile website loads on the same connection — if it does not, the problem is the network, not the app.
The download does not start
- Cause
- A browser download block, a data-saver mode, or a pop-up blocker.
- Fix
- Open the download page in Chrome (as the operator recommends), turn off data saver, and tap the button again.
Problems that are not specific to the APK — connection, loading, account access — are on the troubleshooting overview.
Compatibility limitations
- Old devices meeting only the Android 5.0 minimum can run the app but may be slow on live-betting pages and live dealer streams.
- Huawei and other devices without Google services install APKs normally, but push notifications may not arrive.
- Work profiles and managed phones often block unknown-source installs entirely; use the mobile website instead.
- Tablets and foldables run the phone layout; the mobile website may use the larger screen better.
